Who we are
This site is run by CCA Shield Limited ("CCA Shield", "we"). You can reach us at hello@ccashield.nz.
What we collect, and when
- Just visiting. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't set analytics cookies.
- Doing the Practice Check. Your answers stay in your browser. They are not sent to us unless you choose to add your email at the end.
- Entering a domain. To check your email protection (SPF and DMARC), your browser looks up your domain's public DNS records using Google Public DNS (dns.google). That means the domain you enter, and your IP address, are visible to Google for that lookup.
- Adding your email. If you add your email, we receive it along with your domain (if you gave one), your scores, your answers (as option numbers), and the result of the email check.
- Booking a call. Booking happens on our scheduling provider's page, which has its own privacy terms.
Why we use it
To send you your report, to follow up about it, and to prepare for a call if you book one. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who can see it
Our service providers, only so they can run the service for us: Cloudflare (hosting), and the tool we use to receive and manage enquiries. Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand and Australia.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it to follow up with you. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In New Zealand this is your right under the Privacy Act 2020; in Australia, under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Email hello@ccashield.nz.
If you're not happy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand, privacy.org.nz) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
